The Kaohsiung Stadium Sportspark Masterplan, designed by The HOK Planning Group, is a transformative urban vision that integrates world-class sporting facilities with a vibrant public realm. Strategically located at the intersection of major transit lines—including direct access to the Kaohsiung Metro and High-speed Rail—the project is positioned as a prominent regional gateway that connects the city to the rest of Taiwan and the international community. The master plan moves beyond the traditional stadium concept by creating a “Sportspark”—a comprehensive destination where professional sports, community recreation, and ecological systems coexist. Central to the design is an interconnected landscape framework featuring a “Greenway” and a series of lakes and formal courtyards, which provide natural relief from the urban environment while facilitating intuitive wayfinding for large crowds. With dedicated zones for sports training, active play, and a “Spa Village,” the project fosters a healthy, active lifestyle for the citizens of Kaohsiung, ensuring the site remains a lively civic destination long after the main events have concluded.
