Libya

Located in Libya, North Africa, close to the historic Green Mountain coast with its ancient Roman ruins, this new coastal town is set to be the gateway to the emerging tourism market on Libya’s eastern coast. The site is set amongst a variety of natural coastal conditions, with two prominent salt pans planned to become a marina and a natural wetland. This sensitivity to the natural environment is carried through with low-impact dune housing and equestrian fields and trails, positioning the project to become a unique destination. The Citadel, which is the town centre, is a product of research into Libyan culture, combining the fascinating walled cities of ancient times with the modern functions of a marina, creating a truly unique town centre for Libyan and international residents and visitors. The Masterplan is a combination of environmental sensitivity, cultural respectfulness, and contemporary international standards.
