The Implementation Program provides physical plans for the University of California, Santa Cruz according to its 1988 Long Range Development Plan. The program establishes the principles, guidelines, and mechanisms for implementing specific development projects, particularly related to their siting, design, landscape, and integration into the campus fabric. The Implementation Program respects the traditions and academic aims of the university and incorporates a sensitivity and respect for the natural setting. The plans provide the basis for allocating future growth and accommodating change in academic approaches and priorities. The concerns of the Long Range Development Plan are addressed at four levels in the Implementation program: Campus Lands, Campus Buildings and Places, Transportation and Access, and Specific Lands, Buildings, and/or Places. This plan is based on a public process, with broad participation from the campus community and the incorporation of comments and suggestions throughout.
