Pearl of the sea refers to the precious water resources in Zhuhai, where the topography gracefully approaches the sea recalling the French southern coastal cities. Doumen district, situated in the west of Zhuhai places the “Fen Liu River” waterfront, which main street invites to an remarkable journey were the old town, the hot springs, village unique alleys and autochthonous agricultural fields meet. The Masterplan enhances the existing urban configuration by inviting an intimate scale alley ways and agriculture threading. Heights are stepping from taller in the food hills to riverfront and spanning both tourism and neighborhood nodes, all this in order to create a sustainable community which beyond its physical impact in the urban settlement, brings economical, social and cultural growth merged to the uniqueness and identity of Doumen’s community.
