In a city of engineers and expatriates, there is a surprising lack of community focus in the north of Dalian. The Masterplan turns a topographic challenge into a woven network of greens, watersheds, retail networks, and social threads. It is around these social and ecological network gravities that neighborhood form, scale, diversity, vibrancy, and connectivity all create a framework within which an organic community life can grow and be sustained.
