At the core of the Sentral One Block rises a tower of “SOHO” type live – workspaces to a landmark height of 60 stories, including a roof top restaurant, intermediate sky lobby – fire refuge garden, and workplace canteen accessible to the office. The tower is divided in two segments above and below a mid-level skygarden lobby. The upper section responds to an upper middle to upper level market reach and includes some duplex larger units. All unity have balconies with green frontage and landscaping that helps the overall building avoid heat gains through the hot mid-day solar period. At the lower section more middle to upper markets can find smaller but modular / flexible units that be combined to create larger layouts. A few larger units are also configured as duplex units and oriented to the east or west ends of the tower to accept city wide views and access intermediate sky gardens at corresponding alternating floors. Balconies with land scaping previous on the other units to continue a “green” image for the overall structure. The base building in its terraced structure supports a cluster of community based retail shops and upper terrace workplace in an arc wrapping the western edge of the site, providing consistent street frontage along Jalan Sultan and the main access roads leading to the Sentral blocks and the transit station. This approach acknowledges a strong public side of the project that maintains a vibrant frontage and an internal shaded space that enables foot traffic to circulate a foreboding fortress that turns its back on the community.
