A new Masterplan was developed for Zhuhai Shizimen Business District, centered on a dynamic mix of uses and an engaging pedestrian environment interconnected with a transit hub, extensive canals, and an open space network. The site is surrounded by natural hills to the north and south, with the majority of the developing land close to the water. There are opportunities to connect the future development back to the natural setting both physically and visually. The dynamic skyline view from Macau will be designed to maintain a balance between the built and natural environment, ensuring the ‘transparency’ of buildings towards the anchoring mountains. The CBD core of the Shizimen Crescent sits on a distinctive island, creating value with increased waterfront access. The future CBD will play a significant role in establishing Zhuhai’s new image, offering unlimited views of Macau and neighboring cities. The development of this CBD will complete the Pearl River Delta, integrating with the entertainment and cultural hub of Macau.
